Sharing Internet via a wired LAN

Sharing Internet via a wired LANAnother thing you can do in addition to sharing files and printers are shared modem. 
Windows XP provides a setting that is very easy to do this. Only in a few minutes you can use a modem that is plugged in a PC to be used by other PCs or laptops that are connected through a LAN cable (UTP)



Internet connectionPerform the following steps in an existing computer modem:
1. Start> Control Panel> Network and Internet Connections> Network Connections


2. Select the modem you want shared, then right-click mouse


3. Choose Properties


4. Select the Advanced tab


5. In the Internet Connection Sharing option, select (tick) the Allow other network users to the connect through this computer's Internet connection.


6. Select an option to Establish a dial-up connection Whenever a computer on my network attempts to access the Internet if your computer allows them to automatically do the dialup.


7. Click OK. Will appear warning that the IP Address LAN Card you will be set to 192.168.0.1. To remember is that the computer opponent must have an IP address in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254.

1. Go to Start> Control Panel> Network Connections


2. Select Local Area Connection. Right-click the mouse and select Properties.


3. Select the General tab, click Internet Protocol (TCP / IP). Click Properties.


4. You may select the option Obtain an IP address automatically.But the more safe if you provide the IP Address in the range of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.254 then type 192.168.0.1 in the Gateway (the IP address shared modem)


5. Click OK. Completed


The final step:


1. Open the Start menu> Control Panel> Internet Options


2. Select the Connections tab. Click the Setup button.


3. New Connection Wizard will appear. Click Next


4. Select Connect to the Internet. Click Next


5. Select Set up my connection manually. Click Next


6. Select Connect using a broadband connection, That Is always on. Click Next


7. Click Finish
